General Licensing Information

 

Real Estate Salesperson

YOU MUST PASS THE TEST BEFORE MAKING THE APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE.

The following outlines general information, more information you can find at www.realestate.mt.gov website.

1.  Licensing Fees:

$87.50

$35.00 Recovery Account (one time fee)

 

2.  Education Requirements:

Tenth Grade education or higher; 60 Hours of additional pre-licensing instruction from a school and instructor approved by the Board.  For more information, please click on logo below for additional education requirements.     

 

 3.  Experience Requirements:

None

Real Estate Broker

YOU MUST PASS THE TEST BEFORE MAKING THE APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE.

The following outlines general information, more information you can find at www.realestate.mt.gov website.

1.  Licensing Fees:

$100.00

$35.00 Recovery Account (one time fee if not currently licensed in Montana)

2.  Education Required:

High School graduate or equivalant; 60 hours of additional pre-licensing instruction from a school and instructor approved by the Board.

3.  Experience Required:

Two years as a licensed Salesperson

Completion of the following activity criteria within 3 years of the date of application:

  • Minimum of 30 residential real estate transactions, or Minimum of 10 commercial, agricultural or farm and ranch real estate transactions.

 Property Manager

YOU MUST PASS THE TEST BEFORE MAKING THE APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE.

In the State of Montana, a person may not engage in or conduct in the capacity of a property manager until that person has received a license from the Montana Board of Realty Regulation.

PROPERTY MANAGERS MAY ONLY BE LICENSED IN MONTANA BY: Examiniation

1.  Application Fee:

$60.00 License Application

$35.00 Recovery Account (one time fee)

2.  Education Requirements:

High School graduate or equivalant; and

30 Hours of pre-licensing instruction from a school and instructor approved by the Board.
